The Turning Peel Pizza

“Long wait but worth it! Servers were so kind and you order your food via their QR code or at the cashier counter to then eat at your table. Pizzas are small (for four people id recommend four pizzas) but the ingredients all felt so fresh and were tasty. Our favorite was the pizza special with peaches. We were nervous about the mushroom and special pies not having any sauce but they weren’t dry at all. Drinks tasty too! Tiramisu was wayyy too alcoholic it felt like i was taking a shot of liquor but we still ate it. Pizza crust was also a bit too burnt for me but didn’t take away from the deliciousness of it all. The beet salad was exceptional. Overall worth the wait, expect small serving sizes but definitely get the mushroom pizza alongside any specials they have.”

“This is some of the best pizza crust I've had in Portland. It's flavorful (sourdough) and chewy! I made a reservation because it seems like a popular/trendy place. We sat outside and the "oasis" patio is super cute. I was a little disappointed that it's basically counter service. You either order on your phone with a QR code or at the counter. I don't really like being asked to tip before I'm even served (or in this case I wasn't really served. They just brought the pizza and then pretty much left us alone) They also charge $1.5-2 for a tiny amount of dipping sauce. I loved the pizza and would definitely go back for that reason but I wish they had full table service.”

“The Turning Peel remains one of my favorite pizza and overall restaurants in the Portland area. My second time visiting this afternoon and well worth the anticipation! No wait time for a 2pm lunch. I ordered the special ‘Delicata’ pizza this time- their seasonal and vegetarian customizations really make it a special experience. Comfy, intimate interior and beautiful back porch with personalized lighting that makes you feel welcomed as if you were dining in an antique portland home. Definitely a must-try if you enjoy a distinct sourdough crust and Neapolitan style pizza.”

“Hands down THE BEST pizza I have had to date. To start, the house when walking up is surrounded by greenery, and the whimsical vintage aesthetic continues through the inside , all the way to the back patio covered with umbrellas , stringed light, dainty seating and more greenery! Not only is this place wholesome with quick service and friendly staff , but the pizza is 10/10! Sourdough Neapolitan style pizza! It doesn’t get much tastier than that. The dough is so light , and the sauce is delicious. You really can’t go wrong with any of the options they have. My husband and I went from ordering 1 pizza to quickly realizing we needed 2 more orders. We just couldn’t get enough of it! Definitely will be going back and would recommend anyone needing a go to pizza spot ! We walked in and were seated immediately but I wouldn’t hesitate to make a reservation.. this place is becoming the IT spot , rightfully so! Check it out- you won’t at all be disappointed”

“A taste of Italy in Oregon!!! Best pizza I’ve had!the crust is perfection thin, charred, and airy! I also got the ricotta garlic sauce which was the perfect dip to eat up the crust. Came here with a large group of girls and there was plenty of seating both inside and outdoors. The furniture and little accessories added the perfect touch of comfort. There were literally grape vines all round the patio and we got to slice up our pizza with scissors! Anyway, well worth your money for the quality and quantity!”
